大相撲の経済学（０）イントロダクション
近年、大相撲界の不祥事が相次いでますね・・・
特に、このところの麻薬汚染問題は大相撲にとって
深刻なイメージダウンにつながっています。
実は、私事ながら９月14日から始まる
「大相撲九月場所」
の両国国技館のチケットを購入していたのです。
（イス席ですけどね・・・）
相撲好きだった祖父の影響で、
大相撲のテレビ中継は小さい頃から毎日のように
観ていた私ですが、生の大相撲を観るのは生まれて初めて！
もし万が一、同場所が中止にでもなったら
どうしようと心配してました。
さすがに中止はなさそうですが。
さて、大相撲は日本が誇る
「伝統文化」
のひとつであることは言うまでもありません。
ただ、その封建的、閉鎖的な制度が、
現代においてはややそぐわなくなっている点は
否めないでしょう。
とはいえ、大相撲界が、伝統文化であると同時に、
興行を始めとする経済活動を通じて存続してきた以上、
その仕組みには、確かな
「経済合理性」
があります。
こうした経済合理性の観点から、
大相撲界の仕組みを分析した本があります。
『大相撲の経済学』
（中島隆信著、東洋経済新報社）
です。
この本はとても面白い本で、
以前からご紹介したいと思っていたのですが、
ネガティブな意味で現在最も注目されている今こそが
ベストタイミングでしょう。
例によって何回かに分けたシリーズで、
内容をご紹介していきたいと思いますのでお楽しみに！

はじめまして。いつも楽しく拝見させていただいております。
（遅ればせながらのご挨拶ですが、TBさせていただきました）
さっそく『大相撲の経済学』を読ませていただきました。
出張の福島→東京→名古屋の新幹線で一気に読破！
日頃、自分たちが目にするのは現役力士のみですが、親方衆も含めた会社組織としてみると、ものすごいイメージがわきました。
現役力士＝契約社員。親方衆は正規社員。
現役力士は定年までガッチリ保証のある正規社員を目指してガンバル！という感じを受けました。
ふと疑問。
一度、関取になり褒賞金の積み立て権を得た力士が幕下に陥落した場合は、褒賞金部分は受け取れないのでしょうか？
この場合は、「十両以上の関取の地位を維持すること」が条件なので、受け取れないのかなぁ、とは思うのですが、幕下と十両を行ったり来たりしてる力士（たとえば安美錦の兄、安壮富士とか）は、十両時代の褒賞金の扱いはどうなるんでしょうね？リセットされちゃうのかなぁ？

『大相撲の経済学』は、面白い内容なので、
一気に読んじゃいますよね。
現役力士＝契約社員、親方衆＝正規社員
というたとえもなかなかしっくりきます！
なお、sasayuさんの疑問点についてですが、
今日の第3回現役力士の報奨制度に書いたように、
幕下に陥落すると報奨金はリセットされるようですね。
だから行ったり来たりするのは誠にもったいない！

リセットされちゃうんですね。
先日、スポーツ誌で「武州山、30歳超えて（幕下に陥落し）出島の付き人となる苦労も味わって・・・」とありました。
どれだけ長く関取の地位を維持していても、落ちたらリセットはツラいなぁ。
相撲部屋の見学に行くとわかるのですが、関取と幕下力士では番付上ではチョっとの差でも、肌ツヤがまったく違う。
衣食住、精神面、環境面すべてが天と地ぐらいの差があるんでしょうね。

良く調べたら、幕下以下に落ちても、
力士褒賞金はリセットされないようです。
私の理解不足でした！
ただ、リセットされないしても、
幕下にいる限り、給料も褒賞金も出ないし、
関取の付き人にならなきゃいけないのでつらいですよね。
